North India is currently under the grip of the monsoon, with significant impacts from heavy rainfall. The region has seen prolonged periods of intense rain, causing extensive waterlogging, flash floods, and landslides in several areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rain in several cities, including Delhi-NCR, as relentless rainfall continues.

Authorities are cautioning residents of Delhi and the surrounding National Capital Region about the risks associated with the release of excessive water from nearby barrages. The Vasudev Ghat area is currently experiencing flooding as a result of the rising water level of the Yamuna River. Mathura Road is also experiencing traffic issues, with congestion and slow-moving vehicles, due to the continuous heavy rainfall.

The Met Department has forecast heavy rainfall across East, West, Central, Northeast, and Northwest India. The Gujarat Region (September 4-6), Saurashtra & Kutch (September 6), Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra (September 7), Uttarakhand (September 3-9), Haryana and Chandigarh (September 4-9), West Rajasthan (September 5-8), and East Rajasthan (September 6) are expected to experience extremely heavy rainfall in isolated areas. Punjab continues to struggle with widespread flooding that has displaced thousands and resulted in approximately 30 deaths.
