The images and videos from the hospital clearly show the extent of the flooding, and how it has affected patient movement and care. The drainage system was completely overwhelmed. The failure to maintain the drains led to water accumulating inside the hospital buildings instead of being diverted.
The hospital is situated within the constituency of Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. Despite this, the hospital is in this condition. This situation raises questions about the government and the hospital administration’s commitment to ensuring patient safety.
