Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Harmeet Pathanmajra has managed to escape from police custody. It is believed that Harmeet fired shots at the police during his escape. The MLA was originally arrested in Karnal, Haryana. The incident occurred when Harmeet and his associates fired upon the police as they were being transported to the police station. One police officer was injured as a result.
Information suggests that Harmeet used his vehicle to drive toward the police officers to facilitate his escape. He and his associates fled in a Scorpio and a Fortuner. The police have recovered the Fortuner, while the MLA made his getaway in the Scorpio.
