With active monsoon conditions prevailing, the IMD has issued alerts for heavy rainfall across India on August 31st. Specific regions under the heavy rainfall warning include Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab in Northwest India. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Maharashtra and Gujarat in West India. The eastern and central parts of India, encompassing West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh, are also likely to experience heavy showers. In the Northeast, Arunachal Pradesh will continue to receive heavy rainfall, while Assam, Meghalaya, and nearby states may face thunderstorms and lightning. Southern India, particularly Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Telangana, is anticipated to have heavy rainfall. The monsoon trough, a key factor in this weather pattern, extends from Bikaner, Ajmer, Guna, Damoh, Durg, Chandbali towards the central Bay of Bengal. For Delhi, cloudy skies and light rain are expected.
