The Asia Cup 2025 is set to take place from September 9 to September 28. However, there has been a late adjustment to the schedule, specifically impacting the match timings.
The BCCI has declared that most matches, totaling 18 out of 19, will start at 6:30 PM local time. This results in an 8:00 PM IST start time for the games, including the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match.
The shift in timings is due to the extreme heat conditions expected in the subcontinent during September, with temperatures projected to reach as high as 40°C. To prioritize player safety and maintain the quality of the matches, the BCCI approached broadcasters with a proposal to delay the start times. The broadcasters agreed.
All of India’s matches, from the group stage to potential knockout rounds, will follow this new schedule, starting at 8:00 PM IST. This promises a more comfortable viewing experience for fans.
The exception to the rule is the UAE vs. Oman match, scheduled for September 15 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, which will retain its original start time.
This modification aims to provide better conditions for players and a more enjoyable viewing experience for fans during the Asia Cup 2025.
