The tenure of Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, has been extended, guaranteeing his position until 2027. The government’s decision comes after recent events with India, leading to Munir’s promotion to Field Marshal. This advancement ensures his leadership will continue, with no possibility of removal before November 29, 2027. The government has established that the term for Army, Navy, and Air Force chiefs is now five years. Once appointed, service chiefs will hold their positions for a full five-year period.
