    The government has appointed Anish Dayal Singh, a retired IPS officer, as Deputy NSA. Singh, who served as the DG of CRPF-ITBP, retired last year. He brings extensive experience from the Intelligence Bureau. As Deputy NSA, Anish Dayal Singh will oversee internal matters of the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, Naxalism, and Northeast insurgency.

    Singh was the DG of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) before retiring. He held this post from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. He also served as the DG of ITBP, with approximately 30 years of significant experience in the ITBP and Intelligence Bureau. Anish Dayal Singh was born in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, in 1964, and he received training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. His accomplishments encompass enhancing the CRPF’s role in operations against Naxalism and reorganizing more than 130 CRPF battalions. He also looked after the security during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the first assembly elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
