The Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has successfully extradited notorious gangster Mayank Singh, also known as Sunil Meena, from Azerbaijan to Ranchi, following the completion of extradition procedures. A team led by SP Rishav Kumar Jha from Jharkhand ATS conducted the necessary legal processes for the extradition and brought Mayank Singh back to India. Special security measures and surveillance were implemented at Birsa Munda Airport.

SP Rishav Kumar Jha mentioned this as a historic moment for Jharkhand Police, being the first successful extradition. He expressed optimism about bringing other criminals from overseas to India via extradition or deportation. The police appreciate the support from the DGP, Chief Minister, and state and central governments. Mayank Singh faces more than 50 charges in various states, including Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Punjab, and has been a long-term wanted individual.
