The Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, inaugurated the State Bank of India’s (SBI) cyber security awareness drive by launching the Cyber Vigilance Rath from Raipur. He acknowledged the benefits of technology while highlighting the growing threat of cyber fraud. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of vigilance to protect against cybercrime. The campaign aims to educate people about cyber security through audio-video presentations, street plays, and puppet shows. 29 locations with a high incidence of cyber fraud have been identified and will be the focus of the campaign. The Chief Minister advised the public to protect their banking information, passwords and OTPs, and to avoid clicking on unknown links. He cautioned the public that cybercriminals are constantly updating their methods, and a moment of carelessness can result in substantial financial loss. This campaign, launched by the SBI, will run from August 15, 2024, until November 30, 2025. The initiative will cover all 33 districts in the state, utilizing performances and street plays to teach the public about cyber fraud and preventative measures. The public can report online financial fraud on the helpline number 1930.
