The Supreme Court has intervened in the Renukaswamy murder case, annulling the bail granted to Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda, and five other accused individuals. Justices J B Pardiwala and R Mahadevan, representing the bench, invalidated the Karnataka High Court’s ruling, citing its deficiencies. The apex court expressed concerns that allowing bail could prejudice the ongoing trial and potentially influence the statements of witnesses.
