Chhattisgarh’s Maternity Vandan Yojana, spearheaded by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is focused on improving the lives of women through financial assistance. The primary objectives include boosting women’s financial independence, enhancing their health and nutrition, and reinforcing their role in family decisions. The scheme offers a monthly payment of ₹1,000 to qualified married, widowed, and deserted women, which is directly credited to their bank accounts. Under the guidance of Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, the program is working to reduce gender-based discrimination and enhance women’s economic standing and self-reliance. The program currently supports more than 69.19 lakh women in Chhattisgarh. The district of Narayanpur sees over ₹2 crore 78 lakh disbursed monthly to over 27,000 women, with 3,687 beneficiaries from special backward tribes.
