Gen Dwivedi at IIT Madras: ‘Agnishodh’ Inauguration and Insights into ‘Operation Sindoor’

At IIT Madras, Gen Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff, launched ‘Agnishodh’, the Indian Army Research Cell (IARC). This initiative signifies a strategic move towards bolstering defense technology and enabling the Indian Army. The cell will focus on training military personnel in crucial fields like additive manufacturing, cybersecurity, quantum computing, wireless communication, and unmanned systems. The IARC will also collaborate with the IIT Madras Research Park, AMTDC, and the Pravartak Technologies Foundation. During his address, Gen Dwivedi shed light on ‘Operation Sindoor,’ which he described as a carefully planned, intelligence-driven operation. He underlined the necessity of indigenous technology and precise military actions. He also lauded the IIT faculty’s contributions. Dwivedi elaborated on the strategic nature of ‘Operation Sindoor’, comparing it to a complex chess game. Following an incident on April 22nd, quick decisions were made, and targets were efficiently executed. The Prime Minister was briefed on April 29th. The operation galvanized the country, reflecting a united national front.
