The Indian auto industry saw a slight rise in sales in July 2025, with a total of 3,46,669 units sold, compared to 3,43,026 units in July 2024. Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra & Mahindra were at the forefront, whereas Hyundai and Tata Motors experienced dips in their sales figures. The Hyundai Creta secured the top spot as the best-selling SUV, with sales of 16,898 units. This was a slight decrease from the 17,350 units sold in the same month last year. The Creta surpassed Maruti Brezza and Mahindra Scorpio. Maruti Suzuki sold 14,065 units of the Brezza, which experienced a slight 4% decline. Mahindra’s Scorpio showed a positive trend with a 12% increase, selling 13,747 units. Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx also performed well, securing the fourth position with sales of 12,872 units, an 18% rise compared to the previous year. The Tata Nexon and Punch secured positions in the top 10. The Mahindra Thar recorded substantial growth with a 125% increase in sales, selling 9,845 units. The Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Venue, and Kia Sonet followed in the list, each with their respective sales performances. The Hyryder saw a 19% increase, whereas the Venue and Sonet witnessed declines in sales.
