The Ministry of Tourism does not directly undertake 100% centrally funded Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects under its existing schemes, including the Swadesh Darshan scheme. However, the Ministry has evaluated project proposals submitted by state governments under its SASCI scheme (Special Assistance to States for Creation of Infrastructure for Tourism). To encourage private sector participation in the tourism sector, states were required to share potential PPP projects at selected tourist sites as per the evaluation criteria. The implementation and monitoring of these projects will be carried out by the respective state governments, with Chhattisgarh’s Film City and Cultural Center as key beneficiaries of this investment.
