A woman and her alleged paramour have been arrested by Madhya Pradesh police in connection with the suicide of a family of four in Khurai. The victims, a 45-year-old man, his mother, and two children, were found dead in their home after consuming a poisonous substance on the night of July 25-26. The man’s mother and son died at the scene, while the man and his daughter died while receiving medical care. The investigation indicated that the man’s wife had been engaged in an extramarital affair with a childhood friend. The man’s mother had repeatedly objected to the friendship and asked the woman to end it. However, the woman threatened to falsely accuse the family of a dowry case instead. Moreover, the daughter had allegedly observed her mother in compromising positions several times. Law enforcement determined that the illicit relationship was the core reason for the suicides and subsequently arrested and imprisoned the woman and her partner. The investigation continues.
