Mir Yar Baloch, a prominent figure in the Baloch community, has spoken out against the trade deal between the United States and Pakistan concerning Balochistan’s oil reserves. He disputes Pakistan’s ownership of the region’s resources, including oil, gas, and minerals. Baloch sent a letter to Donald Trump, expressing his concerns and accusing Pakistan of making false claims. He clarified that resources like rare earth elements, copper, lithium, and uranium belong to the Baloch people, and the Pakistani government has no right to control or sell them. He criticized the Pakistani military, particularly Army Chief General Asim Munir, for allegedly misleading US officials. Baloch called the deal a strategic mistake, warning that it would empower the ISI, which he views as a supporter of terrorism. He emphasized that the deal would finance global terror, endanger regional stability, and potentially lead to attacks. Baloch reiterated Balochistan’s declaration of independence in May 2025 and called for international recognition of its sovereignty. He declared that Balochistan is not for sale and will resist any exploitation of its resources without the consent of the Baloch people, highlighting that their sovereignty is non-negotiable.
