To ensure your private browsing remains private, follow these steps. Clear your DNS cache, as searches made in Incognito Mode can be stored there. In Windows, access the Command Prompt by searching for ‘cmd’ in the Start Menu. Then, type ‘ipconfig /flushdns’ and press Enter.
Download files are saved to your device. Manually delete downloaded files by going to your Downloads folder, selecting the files, and clicking delete, then emptying the Recycle Bin.
Check and clear browser cache and cookies. While Incognito Mode doesn’t save cookies, they can be saved if a website is opened in a regular tab. In Chrome, go to Settings, then Privacy & Security, and then Clear Browsing Data. Choose ‘Cached images and files’ and ‘cookies’, then click ‘Clear Data’.
