Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has taken legal action to avoid arrest by filing an anticipatory bail application in the Supreme Court. This follows the emergence of his name in investigations surrounding alleged irregularities in liquor, coal, and the Mahadev betting app. The petition challenges the jurisdiction of the CBI and ED, seeking protection from arrest and the chance to cooperate with the ongoing investigations. The Supreme Court will consider the case on Monday.

The Supreme Court will also hear the bail plea of Chaitanya Baghel, the former CM’s son. Chaitanya’s petition asserts that his arrest was politically motivated as his name was not in the ED’s FIR or any statements. He is currently in judicial custody.
