The 20th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, providing over 20,500 crore rupees to more than 97 million farmers across India through DBT. Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai joined the event virtually from Raipur. Prime Minister Modi mentioned that since 2019, the scheme has disbursed 3.75 lakh crore rupees directly to farmers. The government is dedicated to improving farmers’ lives, and the PM Kisan scheme exemplifies this commitment. The Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhan Yojana is launched to aid agricultural development in backward districts, with a budget of 24,000 crore rupees. Investments in irrigation are increasing to enhance crop yields. The Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana offers protection against natural disasters, and women’s economic empowerment is a key focus. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai wished the people of Chhattisgarh for the auspicious month of Shravan, seeking blessings. He noted that over 25 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh benefited from the PM Kisan scheme, receiving over 553.34 crore rupees. The Chief Minister assured that the government is working to uplift farmers and is providing 3100 rupees per quintal for paddy. The government also paid 3716 crore rupees in pending bonus within ten days. Furthermore, the Kisan Credit Card scheme, initiated earlier, is helping farmers with interest-free loans. The Chief Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to expand irrigation areas and support subsidiary agricultural activities such as fisheries and dairy farming.
