During a meeting in New Delhi, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai of Chhattisgarh met with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil to discuss the Bodhghat Multipurpose Project. This project is essential for the Bastar region and is expected to change the economic and social dynamics of the area. The project is designed to provide irrigation for around 8 lakh hectares of agricultural land, which will benefit the farming community directly. It is also expected to produce 125 MW of electricity, fulfilling the energy needs of the area, and a strong system for the supply of drinking water will be established. The Union Minister promised full support from the central government, recognizing that this project can boost social upliftment, employment generation and industrial development in Bastar. The state and central governments are expected to work together on the swift implementation of this project. It is anticipated that the Bastar region will enter a new era once this project is in place.
