RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has strongly criticized the current Bihar government, alleging that it operates with one engine focused on crime and the other on corruption. He made these remarks following a meeting of the India coalition’s coordination committee. Yadav stated that the alliance discussed significant issues during the meeting. He accused the government of inaction and announced plans for the Mahagathbandhan to conduct public outreach and rallies in the coming weeks to address public concerns. These concerns include safeguarding the rights of Bihar’s citizens and addressing problems with voter registration. Rahul Gandhi is expected to participate in these events. Yadav highlighted Bihar’s poor performance in key areas like education, healthcare, and irrigation, while the state faces high levels of migration, poverty, and unemployment. He further addressed the CAG report, claiming a Rs 80,000 crore scam and accusing the government of failing to provide any explanation. He emphasized his belief that corruption is prevalent when the BJP is in power. The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled for the end of this year. The current Assembly’s term ends on November 22, 2025. Although the Election Commission has yet to announce official dates, the election is likely to occur in October or November 2025, possibly in two or three phases. The first phase of the SIR in Bihar has already concluded, revealing 7.24 crore voters in the state. The draft will be published on August 1, 2025, with the final list expected on September 30, 2025.
