BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has publicly questioned the Congress party’s stance on the Chhattisgarh corruption case, specifically the matter involving Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Trivedi accused the Congress leadership of defending corruption for political reasons, during a press conference on Saturday. He expressed surprise at the unprecedented support provided by the party’s top leaders to those implicated in the alleged irregularities. Trivedi contrasted this with past instances, such as Rahul Gandhi’s defense of his brother-in-law, differentiating it as a family matter rather than a political issue. He demanded the Congress explain its interest in defending what he described as blatant corruption. Raising concerns about the scope of the alleged scam, Trivedi suggested potential links extending beyond Bhupesh Baghel’s family. He further criticized the Congress, highlighting corruption allegations against its governments in Karnataka and Telangana, and seeking answers from the party regarding these issues.
