The Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (Vyapam) has announced several new regulations for its upcoming examinations. Among the changes, candidates will be prohibited from wearing shoes and must instead wear sandals or slippers. Only clothing with half sleeves will be permitted, and wearing jewelry will not be allowed. These rules will be implemented for the upcoming Sub Engineer recruitment exam scheduled for July 20th.

The examination gates will close 15 minutes prior to the start of the exam. For instance, if an exam is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM, the gates will close at 9:45 AM. Candidates must wear light-colored, half-sleeved clothing. Additionally, candidates will not be permitted to leave the examination center during the initial and final 30 minutes of the exam.

Vyapam’s new regulations aim to align with the stringent standards of examinations such as NEET, JEE, and UPSC. The rules regarding dress code, footwear, and jewelry will be similar. Metal detector checks will now be implemented along with manual searches. Police personnel will also be present to monitor the examination centers and surrounding areas. According to officials, these changes will be applied during the Sub Engineer recruitment exam, which is being organized by the Water Resources Department on July 20th.

Any form of communication, including whispering, shouting, talking, or using gestures, will be strictly prohibited within the examination hall. Disobeying instructions from officials, misconduct, or engaging in disputes will also lead to consequences. Following a cheating case during the PWD exam held on Sunday, Vyapam reiterated the guidelines on unfair practices. The guidelines, which were initially released in February 2023, specify prohibited activities during the examination.

Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, calculators, and all other communication devices are strictly prohibited within the examination premises.
