A courtesy meeting took place between Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Manoj Joshi, Secretary of the Department of Land Resources, Government of India, at the Vidhan Sabha office. The discussion covered the strengthening of land record systems, leveraging technological innovations in land surveying, and speeding up the resolution of pending cases in revenue courts. Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Sai stated the state government’s commitment to updating land revenue documents and making necessary improvements. He emphasized the direct correlation between organized revenue records and efficient case resolution in revenue courts. He assured that the state government is committed to working together with the central government to improve land records, making the system more efficient and beneficial to the public.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the central government’s efforts to improve the accuracy and efficiency of land revenue records using technology. He directed the revenue department officials to promptly ensure all necessary steps are taken in this direction.

Secretary Joshi noted that the land record situation in Chhattisgarh is relatively good and is continuously improving with the active support of the state government. He pointed out that modern technologies have significantly improved the land surveying process, making it faster, more accurate, and more reliable compared to traditional methods.

Furthermore, Joshi stated that the central government is working to improve the land record maintenance system and is providing financial and technical assistance to states. Digital surveying is being used to solve the technical issues arising from updating maps during land transactions, which will provide updated and authenticated maps, thereby minimizing errors and improving the planning of urban expansion.
