Bastar Returning to Democracy from Naxalism: 45 Naxalites Surrender in 24 Hours

23 Naxalites with a reward of Rs 1.18 crore returned to the mainstream in Sukma, 1521 have given up violence in the last 15 months

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said – ‘Not the bullet of the gun, now the voice of development is echoing’

Raipur, July 12, 2025/ A wind of change is blowing in the remote areas of Chhattisgarh. Bastar is changing, guns are stopping and the flame of democracy is now burning in every corner. In this changing environment today, 23 Naxalites with a reward of ₹1.18 crore have surrendered in Sukma district. Including these, a total of 45 Naxalites have given up the path of violence and expressed faith in the democratic system in the last 24 hours.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, expressing his reaction to this unprecedented event through the social media platform X, said that this is not just a surrender, but a symbol of the victory of that faith, which our government has reached from village to village through public-oriented schemes like ‘Niyad Nella Nar’. Now, instead of the bullet of the gun, the voice of development is being heard here.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in the last 15 months, 1521 Naxalites have surrendered, which is a clear proof that the government’s reach and trust in the Naxal-affected areas has increased continuously. This success also shows the positivity of the state government’s ‘New Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy 2025’, under which the Naxalites who are giving up arms are being given not only social respect, but also the opportunity of rehabilitation and livelihood.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that this change is a living example of the vision of good governance being run under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji. He expressed confidence that our state will be completely free from Naxalism within the stipulated time and every citizen of the Bastar region will be connected to the mainstream of development.
