    Heavy and continuous rainfall in central Chhattisgarh has caused significant disruption to both daily life and the railway network. The Durg railway station is completely flooded, with water covering the railway tracks, leading to the suspension of many train services and causing major problems for passengers.

    The weather department anticipates heavy to very heavy rainfall in certain areas of central Chhattisgarh on July 10, although the intensity of the rainfall is expected to lessen from July 11.

    The region received an average of 13.2 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours. The total rainfall to date is 343.6 mm, which is 15% above the average. Durg district recorded 13 cm of rainfall in the past day, prompting the release of water from the Mongra dam and causing the Shivnath River to rise. This has led to the risk of flooding in several villages and urban areas.

    Regional Rainfall Breakdown:

    * Balod: 12 cm
    * Ahiwara: 10 cm
    * Dhamdha, Mandirhasoud, Gandai: 9 cm
    * Borai, Arjunda: 8 cm
    * Dharsinwa, Doundilohara, Bhakhara, Patan, Bhilai: 7 cm
    * Raipur, Mana, Khairagarh: 6 cm
    * Saraiapali, Arang, Ambagarh Chowki, Pamgarh, Kharora, Gobra Nawapara, Gunderdehi, Chhuriya, Mohla, Rajnandgaon: 5 cm

    The rains, while beneficial for agriculture and water bodies, are also causing considerable damage to everyday life and transport infrastructure. Railway officials are working to drain the water and restore normal train services.
