Raman Deka, Governor, Reviews Development in Pithora, Orders Speedy Implementation and Quality Assurance

Governor Raman Deka held a review meeting in Godbahal, Pithora, to assess the progress of development initiatives and government schemes. He issued directives to accelerate the pace of work while ensuring the quality of the projects. The Governor reviewed various sectors including health, education, nutrition, agriculture, skill development, financial inclusion, and infrastructure improvement. He instructed all departments to strive towards achieving over 90% of the targets within the Aspirational Block framework. The Governor emphasized that government priorities must reach the last individual. Water conservation was highlighted as a key priority, with instructions for concrete water harvesting efforts in every village. He instructed swift completion of structures like dabri construction, soak pits, and injection wells to improve rainwater harvesting and groundwater levels. Governor Deka also highlighted the importance of animal husbandry as a means of rural livelihood, and emphasized its role in generating income and providing nutritional security. The Governor discussed the potential of tourism by conserving and promoting local natural and cultural heritage, to create employment opportunities. He emphasized road safety and the need for effective measures to prevent accidents, including awareness campaigns on helmets and traffic regulations. He praised the contributions of women’s self-help groups, and suggested expanding their economic activities. He also stressed on strengthening banking facilities to enhance financial inclusion in rural areas. On health and nutrition, the Governor instructed the identification and monitoring of malnourished children, alongside the use of the Nutrition Tracker. He encouraged data synchronization among Mitanin, Women and Child Development, and Health departments. The Governor also ordered regular training for teachers and subject-specific training at state and district levels. Field visits to evaluate the implementation of schemes and gathering feedback from beneficiaries were also ordered. Governor Deka urged participation in the ‘A Tree for Mother’ campaign to promote tree planting and directed for the plantation of saplings in all government offices.
