The Hera Panchami of the Rath Yatra in Seraikela was marked by an unexpected incident where Goddess Lakshmi, displeased with Lord Jagannath, destroyed his chariot at the Gundicha Temple. The goddess was brought in a palanquin from Srimandir to the Gundicha Temple where she requested Lord Jagannath to return to Srimandir with her. Upon the Lord’s refusal, she broke his chariot, and subsequently, she returned to Srimandir, displaying her anger.

In Kharsawan, a Bhajan Sandhya was organized at the Kali Temple Community Hall on the occasion of Hera Panchami. The event featured a team of artists from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, led by Laxmidhar Barik. They presented bhajans glorifying Lord Jagannath. The Odia singers, including Laxmidhar Barik, Pratap Chandra Mohapatra, Sita Rani, Seema Kumari, and Sarat Kumar, presented Odia bhajans, captivating the audience with their devotional performances.
