New Regional Organization in the Works: Pakistan and China Lead the Initiative

Pakistan and China are collaborating on a project to establish a new regional organization. The purpose of this initiative is to replace the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). The Express Tribune, based in Pakistan, has reported that Islamabad and Beijing are in the advanced stages of talks to create a new body. The new organization is expected to concentrate on fostering regional connectivity and integration.
