The ICC has announced a comprehensive set of rule changes affecting various aspects of the game. Test cricket will introduce a stop clock, with time penalties for slow over rates. ODI matches will use one ball for the final overs. Boundary catches will now require fielders to land inside the boundary after their initial contact with the ball. There are also changes to the concussion replacement process, which requires teams to nominate replacements before the match, and modifications to the DRS wicket zone and rules regarding deliberate short runs. Additionally, experiments are planned for replacement players in domestic first-class cricket and a revised wide ball rule in ODIs and T20Is. These changes are a result of recommendations from the ICC Men’s Cricket Committee and are intended to improve player safety, accelerate the pace of play, and provide greater clarity in the game. The changes are in effect now for Test matches, with ODIs and T20Is seeing the changes in July.
