The cricketing world is in mourning following the death of Dilip Doshi, the former Indian spinner, who died in London at 77 after a cardiac arrest. The BCCI expressed its sadness at the passing of the cricketer, who played for India between 1979 and 1983. Doshi is survived by his wife, Kalindi, son Nayan, and daughter Vishakha. He played 33 Test matches and 15 ODIs, taking 114 and 22 wickets, respectively. Doshi’s debut in Chennai was memorable, and he’s one of a few to achieve a five-wicket haul on their Test debut. He had a noteworthy domestic career with Saurashtra and Bengal and played in English county cricket. His first-class career saw him take 898 wickets. Doshi’s legacy will be remembered by cricket enthusiasts.
