Himachal Pradesh Police Exam Controversy: Thakur Calls for Accountability and Transparency

Jai Ram Thakur, the former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, has voiced strong disapproval of the current government’s handling of the police recruitment examination, labeling the situation a betrayal of the state’s youth. He demanded that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu take responsibility by resigning and by ordering an immediate investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Thakur highlighted the irregularities within the examination, citing evidence of widespread cheating and group efforts during the exam, portraying it as a complete breakdown of the recruitment process. He further questioned the government’s lack of transparency, specifically regarding the withholding of CCTV footage from examination centers. The former CM criticized the Congress government’s approach to recruitment, suggesting that it was riddled with corruption and lacked accountability. Thakur also referenced claims of candidates paying large sums to secure positions and warned that those involved must be brought to justice.
