The sergeant is accused of collecting 2,500 rupees per constable from 60 constables. The Superintendent of Police (SP) took action after receiving a complaint. The arrested sergeant was found with 36,000 rupees in cash.

The case involves the illegal extraction of 2,500 rupees from newly appointed constables in Munger district, allegedly for medical fitness checks. The SP said that 334 new constables had arrived to join the Munger district force. The sergeant demanded 2,500 rupees per constable from 60 constables, claiming they would fail their medicals without payment. The group included 40 female and 20 male constables.

It was revealed that 60 constables had already paid the sergeant. Investigators recovered 36,000 rupees in cash from Sergeant Sumit Kumar, which was taken from the constable candidates.
