The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, customized by Mid Life Cycles, has achieved an exceptional top speed of over 212.51 km/h. This modified machine, built to compete as a high-speed dragster, surpassed the existing class record and clocked in at 132.050 MPH, or 212.514 Km/h. The bike’s performance was evident from the outset, with rider Charlie Hallam reaching speeds of approximately 121.782 MPH during the first day of competition.
The transformation of the Interceptor involved many changes. These included the balanced crankshaft with lighter components, a modified gearbox designed for reduced friction, and an increased compression ratio. Further enhancements were made to the engine’s combustion chamber, ports, and valves, including the installation of a competition-spec camshaft. Customization of the bike also involved a longer swingarm, upgraded suspension, lightened wheels, custom sprockets, and clip-on handlebars for enhanced aerodynamics.
