Front passengers were adequately protected overall, with good head protection. Side impact tests indicated adequate head and neck protection but marginal chest protection. Child occupant safety scored 16.81 out of a possible 24. The 6-airbag Baleno demonstrated enhanced safety, scoring 26.52/32 for adult occupants (four stars) and 34.81/49 for child occupants (three stars). The 6-airbag version includes frontal, side head curtain, side chest, and side pelvis airbags. During the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the 6-airbag Baleno scored 11.54 out of 16, with marginal chest and thigh protection for the driver. Leg and neck protection was adequate. Front passengers received adequate protection, including good neck protection. The side moveable deformable barrier test resulted in a score of 14.99 out of 16. Child occupant safety scored 34.81/49.00. The safety ratings are consistent across several Baleno model variants.
