In the presence of Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren, an MoU was signed today between the Finance Department, Government of Jharkhand and State Bank of India regarding the salary package of state government employees. The MoU was signed by Special Secretary of Finance Department Rajeshwari B and Deputy General Manager of State Bank of India Shri Devesh Mittal. On this occasion, Finance Minister Shri Radha Krishna Kishore, Chief Secretary Smt. Alka Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Avinash Kumar, Principal Secretary Smt. Vandana Dadel, Chief General Manager (Jharkhand-Bihar) of State Bank of India Shri K. B. Bangaraju and General Manager Shri Prabhash Bose were present. Under the MoU, government employees who have salary account in State Bank of India will get the benefit of health insurance and life insurance including accident insurance up to Rs 1 crore and many other banking services without any additional charge.
Once again a new chapter is starting
Addressing the MoU signing ceremony, the Chief Minister said that the government is committed to the honor, security and welfare of all categories of government employees. In this direction, a new chapter is starting from today towards providing financial security to government employees. In this episode, this step has been taken in collaboration with the State Bank of India to provide accident insurance cover to the state government employees. Through accident insurance, their families will get financial assistance of Rs 1 crore in case of death in an accident during their service period. Apart from this, our government has started many more arrangements, through which we are working to protect the interests of government employees.
Providing financial security to government employees in adverse and complex circumstances
The Chief Minister said that today every person is worried about the safety of himself and his family. Whether it is a matter of financial security or health or life security, our government is working with visionary thinking and sensitivity regarding the financial security of all its government employees. The Chief Minister said that just as the government is concerned about you, similarly, in a backward state like Jharkhand, institutions like SBI are coming forward for cooperation.
Important role of government employees in the development of the state
The Chief Minister said that government employees play an important role in the development of the state. Government employees become the medium for policy formulation and implementation of action plans for the state to move forward. In such a situation, along with boosting the morale of government employees, they should be given a better environment to work. Government employees should also perform their duties in the interest of the state with full honesty and integrity.
