A SpiceJet flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru turned into an unexpected ordeal for one passenger who found themselves locked in the aircraft’s lavatory for the duration of the flight. The airline has expressed regret and reportedly offered compensation, but the incident has caused a stir. The passenger’s confinement ended upon landing in Bengaluru, with ground staff intervening to open the jammed door.

The incident took place on a Monday night flight that was delayed by two hours. Soon after takeoff, the passenger, seated in seat 14D, was unable to exit the restroom due to a faulty lock. Despite attempts by the crew to assist, the door remained stuck. To provide reassurance, the crew passed a handwritten note to the passenger, requesting that they remain seated until the flight landed in Bengaluru. Images of the note went viral online, sparking amusement and commentary. The flight landed in Bengaluru around 3:45 AM, and airport engineers were able to open the door. SpiceJet has since apologized for the inconvenience.
