A birthday celebration in Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, ended in tragedy as a man was stabbed to death following a dispute over fireworks. The incident occurred in the Mahimasagar ward. The altercation started when Naresh Kumar asked a group of youths to stop setting off fireworks, citing the disturbance.

Three individuals, identified as Hemant, Dinesh, and Sunil, became enraged by the request, leading to a verbal and then physical confrontation. While the initial violence was quelled by the intervention of other residents, the attackers returned and fatally stabbed Naresh.

Naresh was rushed to Dhamtari District Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries. The police were alerted and have arrested the three suspects. A murder investigation is underway, confirmed ASP Manishankar Chandra. The community is deeply saddened, and the incident has raised concerns about rising intolerance. The authorities have appealed to the public to maintain peace and cooperate with law enforcement.
