A distressing incident has occurred in Korba, Chhattisgarh, where a woman was stabbed by her former boyfriend, and her mother was also injured. The event took place on Saturday, June 7th, in Digaonpur Rikshaw Para. The victim and her mother visited Rahul Sarathi’s (19) home to urge him to end contact with their daughter, which led to a physical confrontation.
The incident is being investigated by the Rampur police station. Rahul had been a constant presence at the girl’s residence and would often become abusive and violent over minor issues, fueled by his suspicions. The girl ended their relationship after a year of enduring his behavior. However, Rahul persisted, and according to the victim, he threatened her and her mother after being released from jail.
The minor girl recounted that Rahul frequently visited their home, using abusive language and engaging in physical assaults. He would say that she couldn’t be with anyone else and that he had become infamous in the neighborhood and at home because of her, so she couldn’t leave him. She further revealed that he had previously attacked her face, resulting in stitches above her eye, and this time he stabbed her in the chest.
Rahul is unemployed and has repeatedly threatened further violence. The victim was already bearing multiple injury marks. The police have registered a case following the family’s complaint and are conducting an investigation. Rahul’s father works in the health department as a government employee.
