Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with officers in Delhi to acknowledge their contributions to the recent successful anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. He commended their efforts and celebrated the historic outcomes of these operations. Shah highlighted the government’s dedication to eliminating the threat of Naxalism in India.

The anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh were conducted under the direction of the Union Home Minister. The Chhattisgarh Police, along with DRG units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts, undertook a significant operation in the Abujhmad region from May 18 to May 21. A key event on May 21, an encounter in the forests of Boter village, resulted in the elimination of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna, and the recovery of a large quantity of weaponry.

Among the officers who were recognized were Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj, and Superintendents of Police Prabhat Kumar, Jitendra Yadav, and Shalabh Singh. The meeting was also attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka.
