A political dispute has erupted following comments made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, with BJP leader CR Kesavan leading the charge. Kesavan condemned Gandhi for what he called acting as a ‘political puppet’ for Pakistan, after Gandhi’s remarks about PM Modi agreeing to a ceasefire with Pakistan after pressure from the US. Kesavan stated that Gandhi’s statements are contributing to a damaging narrative against India on Pakistani television. Kesavan criticized Gandhi’s approach and his alleged lack of intelligence and integrity. Gandhi’s previous statements included criticism of the government’s handling of Operation Sindoor and contrasted it with the actions of Indira Gandhi during the 1971 war. Speaking to Congress members, Gandhi claimed the BJP-RSS is easily intimidated. The United States President Donald Trump has previously taken credit for cooling down the situation between India and Pakistan after India’s response to Islamabad’s aggression following strikes on terror infrastructure.
