    Earning Lakhs in Profit from Banana and Papaya Farming, Also Providing Employment to 15-20 People in Their Field

    Raipur 06 May 2025/ Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai today made a surprise inspection of Sahaspur village in Bemetara district as part of the Good Governance Festival. During this time, he also visited the lush green banana and papaya fields of outstanding farmer Mr. Rohit Sahu of Sahaspur village. Mr. Sahu told the Chief Minister that he has been cultivating bananas and papayas for the past 9 years, from which he is earning lakhs in profit and also providing employment to 15-20 people in his field. The Chief Minister appreciated farmer Mr. Sahu, saying that his farming is inspiring for all farmers.

    Farmer Mr. Sahu presented fresh bananas and papayas from his field to Chief Minister Mr. Sai. He told the Chief Minister that he is cultivating bananas on 5 acres and papayas on three and a half acres. From this, he is earning a profit of up to Rs 1.5 lakh per acre from bananas and Rs 1 lakh from papayas.

    Mr. Sahu told the Chief Minister that he is earning more profit from banana and papaya farming than from paddy. The Chief Minister said that farmers need to move towards other profitable crops in addition to paddy. The soil of Chhattisgarh is very fertile. In this way, farmers will be able to earn more profit from agriculture.
