Collection of 4,135 Crores in April 2025 – Surpassed States like Kerala, Punjab, and Bihar

Impact of Reforms Undertaken Under the Leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur, May 2, 2025/ Chhattisgarh has achieved a remarkable accomplishment in Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in April 2025. Chhattisgarh has secured its place in the list of top 15 states in the country by collecting GST of 4,135 crores. In terms of GST collection, Chhattisgarh has even surpassed states like Kerala, Punjab, Bihar, and resource-rich Jharkhand.

Regarding this economic progress in the state, experts believe that this achievement is the result of the strong reforms undertaken by the Chhattisgarh government in the trade and industry sector. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government has taken several decisions in the past 15 months that have boosted investment and trade.

Key reforms undertaken by the government include simplification of industry and trade regulations,
abolition of unnecessary and obstructive laws, online availability of all essential services, removal of the license requirement for opening petrol pumps, and streamlining the process for establishing industries.

All these initiatives have boosted industrial and commercial activities in the state, which has strengthened the state’s economy and led to continuous growth in revenue collection.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said, “Our goal is to make Chhattisgarh a self-reliant and prosperous state. This growth in the state’s economic situation has been made possible with the cooperation of the public and the industrial sector.”

This performance is a positive sign for Chhattisgarh’s economy and shows that the state is now emerging as a strong industrial hub, moving beyond a resource-based economy.
