Raipur. April 16, 2025. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the inauguration and felicitation ceremony of the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Shri Neelu Sharma, and the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Sahitya Akademi, Shri Shashank Sharma, at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur. Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh presided over the ceremony. Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated both chairmen by presenting them with a state scarf, a bouquet, and a souvenir. After taking charge in an auditorium packed with special guests and dignitaries, both newly appointed chairmen were congratulated and wished well by everyone. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, and Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel also attended the ceremony.

Addressing the inauguration and felicitation ceremony as the chief guest, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that Chhattisgarh has immense tourism potential from Sarguja to Bastar. With the effective steps taken by the double-engine government in the state, Naxalism in Bastar is breathing its last. After the end of Naxalism, new doors of tourism will open there. Abujhmad will also not remain unexplored. The light of development will reach there too. The future of the state is bright in the field of tourism. There is a lot of potential for employment in this. The Chief Minister expressed hope that under the leadership of both newly appointed chairmen, the development of tourism and literature in the state will reach new heights.

Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, in his presidential address at the ceremony, said that the biodiversity and historical heritage of Chhattisgarh are unparalleled. From a tourism point of view, both these features here are still ‘unexplored’. After the end of Naxalism, Bastar will also soon be fully opened for tourism. It can become the largest tourist destination in India. He said that the forests of Chhattisgarh are very enchanting. There are no better forests anywhere else. Every type of connectivity is increasing in the state. This will greatly benefit the development of tourism.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, in his address, said that the field of tourism in the state is full of possibilities. The government has given the status of industry to tourism here. This is giving more impetus to the development of this sector. He said that two energetic young people of the state have been given important responsibilities. Under the leadership of the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Shri Neelu Sharma, tourism will develop rapidly here. The newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Sahitya Akademi, Shri Shashank Sharma, is knowledgeable about literature and is continuously associated with this field. The state and the academy will benefit from his experiences. It is believed that under the capable leadership of both, remarkable work will be done in these two areas.

The newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Shri Neelu Sharma, while expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai for giving him a big responsibility, said that this is a new challenge and a new opportunity for me. I am getting the privilege of giving Chhattisgarh an identity in the country and the world. We will work to decorate and improve the tourist places here. We will bring activities that strengthen the rural economy through tourism to the ground.

In his address, the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Sahitya Akademi, Shri Shashank Sharma, said that the field of literature is a very vast field. Literature is also a stream of development. Like other fields, the development of art, culture, and literature is also necessary. Chhattisgarh has been known throughout the country in the field of literature. The litterateurs here have earned a name all over the country. Rajnandgaon has contributed a lot to this. He said that he will try his best to live up to the trust of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. He will protect and promote the literature and litterateurs here.
