Several important decisions were taken at the cabinet meeting held today at Mahanandi Bhavan, Ministry, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai.
A major decision was taken today in the interest of farmers. In line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s guarantee, approximately 2.7 million farmers in the state who sell paddy at support prices will be paid ₹3100 per quintal as per the rate declared by the Chhattisgarh government. This year, the central government is procuring paddy from farmers at a support price of ₹2300 per quintal, which is being paid to the farmers. The difference of ₹800 per quintal will be provided by the Chhattisgarh government to farmers as input assistance in a lump sum in February 2025.
The cabinet decided to conduct the online auction of surplus paddy procured during the Kharif Marketing Year 2024-25 through an online platform.
In order to maintain competitiveness and provide relief to HV-4 category electricity consumers – mini steel plants, steel industries that do not have captive power plants or have less than one megawatt capacity and whose load is more than 2.5 MVA in Chhattisgarh state, the cabinet took an important decision under a special relief package to give a discount of up to ₹1 per unit on energy charges from October 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, due to the industrial and economic slowdown.
The cabinet decided to increase the financial assistance given to the state’s artists in compliance with the announcement made during the assembly session. Amendments to the Chhattisgarh Artist Fund Rules, 1982, operated by the Culture Department, to provide financial assistance to needy writers and artists and their dependents, will increase the assistance to state artists from ₹25,000 to a maximum of ₹50,000 and financial assistance of ₹1,00,000 upon death.
To provide Chhattisgarh’s youth with appropriate skills and necessary knowledge in financial markets, investment instruments, and financial planning, it has been decided to sign an MoU with the National Stock Exchange under the Student Skilling Programme (SSP) by the Chhattisgarh government. This training will be conducted for students of high school, higher secondary school, and college.
The creation of a new post of Additional Excise Commissioner (Pay Matrix Level-15) in the Commercial Tax (Excise) Department has been decided.
It has been decided to allot an additional 5 acres of land free of cost to Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust for healthcare purposes in Naya Raipur Atal Nagar.
It has been decided to allot 40 acres of land at a concessional rate for the establishment of The Art of Living Centre in Naya Raipur Atal Nagar under the Chhattisgarh Special Area (Disposal of Immovable Property) Rules, 2008.
It has been decided to amend the Naya Raipur Land Purchase Policy, 2017, by mutual agreement of the Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority.
It has been decided to sell residential and commercial properties built by the Chhattisgarh Housing Board that have not been sold for more than 5 years under a one-time settlement scheme with a discount of 10%, 20%, and 30% from the base price.
Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0, a total grant of ₹3938.80 crore has been approved to benefit 1,32,000 beneficiaries. This includes a mandatory state share of ₹1450 crore and an additional state share of ₹538 crore, which will be given upon completion of the house or housewarming.
Keeping in mind the interests of women self-help groups, the cabinet has decided to entrust the work of ready-to-eat manufacturing to women self-help groups. In the first phase, the work of ready-to-eat manufacturing will be given to women self-help groups in 5 districts.
It has been decided to extend the period of the ordinance related to amendments in various sections for amending the provisions relating to representation and reservation of Other Backward Classes in the three-tier Panchayati Raj institutions under the Chhattisgarh Panchayat Raj Act, 1993.
