Chhattisgarh government offering a one-time 50% discount on lifetime road tax.
Raipur, January 16, 2024/ I had the opportunity to be an MLA twice in undivided Madhya Pradesh. During that time, I spent 8 years of my MLA tenure on a motorcycle. Meeting people, listening to their problems, touring my constituency – everything was done on a motorcycle. A lot has changed since then. The increase in farmers’ income in Chhattisgarh is benefiting the entire economy, including the automobile industry. Its impact is visible in every sector. The auto sector in the state is also growing rapidly. Today, the number of vehicles has increased significantly. Therefore, it is essential to follow traffic rules while driving on the road for safe driving. We should all be aware of traffic rules. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Say said this while inaugurating the RADA Auto Expo 2025 held at Science College Ground in the capital Raipur today.
Chief Minister Shri Say praised the organization of Auto Expo 2025, saying that more than 10,000 vehicles were sold in the Auto Expo last year. This year too, the state government has decided to give a one-time 50% discount on the lifetime road tax of vehicles. After this decision, I think the sales figure of vehicles in the Auto Expo will reach 20,000. The Chief Minister wished the organizers of the Expo well, saying that it is very good that all types of vehicles are available in different categories at one place in the Auto Expo.

He said that last year 24.72 lakh farmers sold 145 lakh metric tons of paddy. This figure will also cross the record this year. This year, procurement of about 160 lakh metric tons of paddy from more than 27 lakh registered farmers is expected.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that there was a time when Chhattisgarh was considered an economically backward state. Today, in its 25-year journey, Chhattisgarh is standing on its own feet. The Chhattisgarh government is procuring paddy from farmers at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. When there is prosperity in the farmer’s house, everyone progresses. He said that under the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, a network of roads is being laid in Chhattisgarh. Roads are being constructed very rapidly in Chhattisgarh. On the other hand, accidents are also increasing, and it is necessary for all of us to stop this. We must follow all the rules and take safety precautions while driving on the road.
MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal said that automobiles are the most important means of connectivity. With money directly going into the accounts of farmers in Chhattisgarh, the auto sector in Chhattisgarh is growing very rapidly. The 50% discount on lifetime road tax under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Say will benefit a large number of middle-class families. Along with the sale of vehicles, the safety of life is also very important. We can only implement road safety by making people aware.
