Peg. Union Defense Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh has accused Congress of misleading the people of the country in the name of caste census. While addressing the election meeting at Khunti assembly seat of Jharkhand on Saturday, he raised the question that what does Congress want to do by opening this caste box and whose reservation does it want to cut? He said, their leaders should be asked what arrangements will you make for reservation for different castes. Until they respond, they should not be supported. He asked Congress President Kharge that do you have any blue print or road map for the welfare of the thousands and lakhs of castes in the country or for giving them reservation? The Union Defense Minister said that in the year 2011, a socio-economic caste census was conducted, in which about 46 lakh castes, sub-castes and clans were identified. This number was so huge that the report was not made public. Congress remained in power for fifty years, why was it never worried about caste census before this? Taking aim at Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Rashtriya Janata Dal, Rajnath Singh said that they have a track record that they never fulfill the promises made to the public, whereas the Bharatiya Janata Party does what it says. If anyone has done the maximum work of toppling the elected state governments in this country, then the Congress Party has done it. Whereas Modiji’s government has not toppled even a single state government till date.

Referring to the problem of illegal intrusion in Jharkhand, the Defense Minister said that the situation is so bad that even Saraswati Vandana has to be banned in schools. Now incidents of stone pelting have started happening here even during festivals. Discussing the control of Naxalism in Jharkhand, he said that it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under whose leadership the NDA government took effective action against Naxalism in the entire country. Naxalite violence has almost ended in most of the districts of the country including Jharkhand. Referring to the steps taken by the Bharatiya Janata Party government for tribal welfare and upliftment, he said that today a daughter of the tribal community has become the President of India. This is a matter of pride not only for the tribal society but for the entire country. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had earlier made PA Sangma, a tribal from North-East, its candidate in the 2012 presidential election, and in 2017, it made Ramnath Kovind from the Dalit community. Rajnath Singh sought votes for BJP candidate Neelkanth Singh Munda from Khunti Assembly seat. He said that despite being a MLA and minister for many terms, till date Neelkanth Singh Munda has not been accused of corruption or defamation.
