Chief Minister inaugurated the Indian Water Works Association’s convention.

400 water experts and experienced engineers from across the country are participating.

Raipur, January 10, 2025/ Water is a precious gift of nature, given to us freely by God, but we must understand its value. Today, the entire world is grappling with a water crisis. Many cities across the country and the world are experiencing a rapid decline in groundwater levels. If we don’t become aware in time, the water crisis could take on a monstrous form. We all must save every drop of water. Water conservation is everyone’s responsibility. Water management is the need of the hour. We must pay special attention to water management, conservation, and the development of water sources for the better lives of future generations. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing the 57th annual convention of the Indian Water Works Association.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that in the context of the global climate crisis, water conservation has become even more important. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has taken important steps towards water and environmental conservation by launching initiatives like the Jal Jeevan Mission, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Amrit Sarovar, Mission Amrit, and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. Modi ji started the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal scheme to provide clean drinking water to every home. Our government has provided tap connections to provide clean drinking water in the rural areas of Chhattisgarh, which has improved the health of the people and positively impacted the standard of living of the rural population. In the program, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai released the Indian Water Association’s souvenir.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw, addressing the event, said that engineers and water conservation specialists from across the country will engage in in-depth discussions on water conservation and contribute to developing strategies for water conservation.

It is noteworthy that this convention, being held in Raipur from January 10 to 12, hosted by the Indian Water Works Association for the second time, has the theme “Water – 360 Degrees”. The convention is being attended by 400 water experts and experienced engineers from across the country. The convention will discuss incorporating new technologies in water, wastewater treatment, and sustainable management.
