Laxmikant Bansod, Balod. A youth died after falling into a well in Tengnabarpara village of Gurur police station area. The deceased has been identified as Mordhwaj Thakur (23 years) son of Krishna Thakur. The incident happened when the police patrolling team saw the young man playing Tas, after which he got scared and started running and fell into the well. After this tragic incident, the villagers got angry over the police action and created a ruckus.

Police station in-charge Tool Singh Patvi said that the patrolling team was patrolling the village last night. Meanwhile, some people were gambling in Tengnabarpara village. As soon as the sound of the patrol vehicle’s siren reached the gamblers, people started running, in which Mordhwaj fell into the well and died. After this, in the morning the body was taken out from the well and sent for post-mortem.

Villagers accused police of negligence

The villagers accused the police of negligence and said that if the police had quietly caught the Taas players, Mordhwaj’s life could have been saved. He condemned the negligence of the police in this entire matter and demanded appropriate action.
