Punjab government’s big gift to employees on Diwali, 4% increase in dearness allowance

Amritsar. The Punjab government has given a gift of 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) to the government employees and pensioners of the state on the occasion of Diwali, Bandi Chhod Diwas and Vishwakarma Diwas. Now this dearness allowance has been increased from 38% to 42%. These new rates will be applicable from November 1, 2024, which will benefit more than 6.5 lakh employees and pensioners of the state.

On this occasion, Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema, Aman Arora, Dr. Baljit Kaur, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Dr. Balbir Singh, Hardeep Singh Mundia, Lal Chand Kataruchak, Laljit Singh Bhullar, Harjot Singh Bains, Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. , Barinder Kumar Goyal, Taranpreet Singh Sond, Dr. Ravjot Singh, Gurmeet Singh Khudian and Mahinder Bhagat while congratulating said that this holy festival of lights gives the message of mutual unity and goodwill and everyone should celebrate it together.

The Cabinet Ministers heartily congratulated all the members, especially the Sikh community, on the historic day of ‘Bandi Chhor Diwas’. He also congratulated the people of the state on Vishwakarma Day.
